Below are the original Mount Gay 30 Rule and the newer Level Design 30 Rule that was in development. The Level Design 30 Rule was an updated version of the MG30 Rule with the following. Removal of reference to Mount Gay Rum, reducing some interior requirements, increase in material allowances, and an increase in fore-triangle and LOA. These changes were believed to open up the LD30 Class to more boats that were in existence up to 33 feet (that did not fit the MG30 Rule), allow modification of existing MG30 designs, and then spur a new generation of designs.
